Steps for booking an examination
Generally, tests cannot be performed on the day of the test. If you wish to be tested, please first visit our hospital to check your medical history, medication status, symptoms, etc. During your visit, a blood test will be conducted to check your kidney function and the presence or absence of infectious diseases (hepatitis B, hepatitis C, syphilis). If you bring test results from within the last six months or have been tested at our hospital, the blood test will be omitted.
On your way home, you will decide the desired test date with the staff and take home a laxative.
Flow of the day before the test
The day before, you should only eat foods that are easy to digest, starting with breakfast. At our hospital, you will purchase colonoscopy food at the pharmacy next door and eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Drink as much clear fluid as possible (water, tea, sports drinks, etc.). It is fine to have dinner by 9 p.m. at the latest. Take the liquid medicine before going to bed, around 10 p.m. Avoid foods that are high in oil or contain fruit pulp, beans, nuts, etc. After dinner, you can drink clear fluids such as water, tea, and sports drinks. It is fine to drink coffee or black tea without milk or lemon, as long as you don't drink too much of it.
The morning of the test

After waking up, on an empty stomach, drink clear liquids such as water, tea, or sports drinks. Start drinking the intestinal cleansing solution for pre-treatment at around 9am . Drink this in several doses over a period of about two hours. About an hour after taking the solution, several watery stools will be excreted. After about two hours, the stool will calm down. If you do not have a bowel movement after a while or if you experience symptoms other than diarrhea, please contact our hospital immediately.
検査予約時間の１０分程前にご来院ください。当院の検査着に着替えていただきます。着替え終わったら、検査ベッドに案内します。左横向きに寝ていただき、検査の姿勢をとって頂きます。患者さんによって個人差はありますが基本的には３０分程度で検査は終了します。ポリープが多い場合や挿入に難渋する場合は１時間近くかかることもあります。検査後は特に異常がない場合は、その場で結果説明し、会計していただいて終了です。組織をとった場合は１０日前後で病理結果が出るため、後日結果説明となります。当院では鎮静検査は行っていないため、検査後問題なければすぐに帰宅が可能です。
