As part of measures to combat the increasing number of lifestyle-related diseases, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare has instructed that on June 1, 2024, it will revise medical fees, abolish the "specific disease management fee" that has been calculated by clinics until now, and switch to a "lifestyle-related disease management fee" that provides more specialized and comprehensive treatment management based on individual treatment plans. In line with this revision, from June 1, 2024, in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, patients whose main illness is hypertension, dyslipidemia, or diabetes and who have been billed for the "specific disease management fee" will be switched to the "lifestyle-related disease management fee."
